Description
Whether you want to treat yourself or gift that gardener and flower enthusiast in your life, the Flower Arranging Workshop and insight into the Flower Farming world may just be the experience you are looking for. A flower workshop is as appealing as it sounds, but it is that much more attractive as a part of an actual working farm with a field you can go through and witness the local flowers growing right before your eyes. With a guided field tour and an authentic setting to unleash your creativity while you dive into a wide variety of blooms, it’s a fun and relaxing summer activity that must be on your list this season. Pick a date and plan your farm visit today!
WORKSHOP TERMS:
- In an effort to provide the best possible experience, our Flower Workshops come in smaller groups and with limited capacity; we advise booking early. At the same time, at least five students must be enrolled for a workshop to run. We reserve the right to reschedule or cancel the workshop if there are not enough sign-ups or in case of severe weather, when it is not possible or becomes dangerous to tour the field. Participants will receive advanced notice, and in case of cancellations, refunds will be issued.
- If we need to reschedule the event, it would typically move to the next day at the same time. In rare cases where the bad weather persists, the workshop may be postponed by a week.
- There are no refunds if a student cannot attend the class after purchasing the ticket.
- For safety reasons, please leave your kids and pets at home, and take this time to relax and recharge. Unfortunately, this event would also be challenging for individuals in walkers and wheelchairs or those experiencing any kind of mobility issues. It’s a significant walk from the farm buildings to the main field via the grass terrain, and once we get into the field, the row formations and their infrastructure may present obstacles.
- We reserve the right to decide where the ultimate spot on the farm will be for the flower-arranging session following the field tour. The first choice will always be outdoors, under the trees overlooking the flower field. However, in case of rain, increased mosquito population or other elements in nature that are out of our control, we can move the session to the sheltered space in the barn and our floral design studio.
- The supplies needed for the Flower Farming & Flower Arranging Workshop will be provided, including bowls/vessels, bowl mechanisms, flower food, and, of course, the flowers, all of which you will take home. You are welcome to bring your own favourite snips, but in any case, we will provide ours to use during the class. The seating is also provided.
- Fresh, cold, and non-alcoholic beverage options will be provided during the workshop.
- Access to an on-site washroom in one of our farm buildings will be provided.
VALUABLE INSTRUCTIONS:
- Other than severe weather conditions, the Flower Farming & Flower Arranging Workshop will run in the sun or rain, so please come prepared. Sun hats, sunglasses, sunscreen, raincoats or umbrellas are all items that are good to have handy. Also, please keep in mind that it is a rural farm setting, the one where spraying of any kind is not in our practice, so bugs are given, and at times, they can be persistent. We are meeting while it’s hot in the day to avoid mosquitoes, and we will have repellent on site; however, load up on your favourite spray and bring an extra layer to wear if needed.
- Please wear comfortable, breathable clothes, and avoid open-toe shoes and sandals. Once we get into the field, the terrain is not smooth, and we don’t want you to trip. Some version of summer sneakers is the best option, and waterproof shoes or boots are your choice in case of light rain. You can also bring an extra pair that you can switch to once we settle into work on our arrangements.
- To drive your bowl arrangement home, we suggest bringing any sort of shallower box and a towel or two to wrap the bowl around and keep it stable in the car.
